To my fellow Jedika. I've been studying Kendo videos as a platform for Saber training. After drilling the stance and striking techniques Ive looked into I realized that all of them orient themselves around the use of a bladed weapon. A saber of light instead of metal would be capable of inflicting damage regardless of which part, above the handle, made contact with your opponent. I think this would dramatically change the manner in which a Jedi would move in contrast to a Samurai or other master of the blade.

If ancient astronauts had gifted the Samurai the weapon of a Jedi would the modern variants of the Samurai arts even exist in their current form?

  • I've been looking at Kendo videos as a platform for Saber training using anything that's about the right length and weight as a sword. After drilling the stance and striking techniques Ive looked into I realized that, so far, all of them orient themselves around the use of a bladed weapon. A saber of light instead of metal would be capable of inflicting damage regardless of which part, above the handle, made contact with your opponent. I think this would dramatically change the manner in which a Jedi would move in contrast to a Samurai or other master of the blade.

So, if ancient astronauts had gifted the samurai a Jedi weapon would the samurai arts even still exist in their present form?
