Is there a way for me to block a forum thread from showing up for me? Like so it doesn't pop up on my wall when a new post is made and in NY Recent Posts page and all?

I had an opportunity to go to see a top specialist at NCI in Bethesda. For free. But I can't cover travel expenses so I can't go.

No insurance, no doc, no meds.... Don't try to be sick and poor in America, man...

I mostly really am grateful for meds....

But today I resent being dependent on them. I call myself a "chemical cyborg" to try to find the humor, and I tell myself all the things about how it's just putting things into my body that should be in there but it's not great at making itself...

But right now I'm just pissed to have to swallow another handful of pills.

I guess the Thing To Do is an intro before jumping all up in people's comment sections, huh...

Hi. I'm River. That's my name. Really. River.
    Yes, my parents were hippies.

I have chronic mental and physical stuff. Some of it's illnesses and some of it's just differences that aren't very supported in many societies yet.

I have depression and it's frequent pal anxiety, PTSD, a smattering of learning differences, sensory processing disorder, ADD-combined type, and I'm on the autism spectrum. Most of the second half of all that I just call being neurodivergent.

I also have fibromyalgia and hypermobility syndrome (my trigger points are wrong for Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, but otherwise I fit that bill), chronic fatigue syndrome (I can't spell what ME stands for so I stick with the old CFS name), migraines, a couple knee's worth of arthritis, IBS, and a crazy-rare cancer (I'm number 154 in written medical history to have it).

I think that's all the really bothersome stuff, at least.

I live in a beautiful house with my zucchini-husband and zucchini-wife (who have a traditional but open and polyamorous marriage to each other) and my service dog Zoe and two cats. I'm very lucky that it's a beautiful house because I'm not often able to leave it. We even have a huge deck with comfy chairs out back.

I'm pretty much always very into plushies, all manner of ocean creatures, the Emma Maersk, cultural studies, various crafts, organization, and self improvement. Special interests that was and wane include the Blue Angels, Finland, autism, some of the more esoteric aspects of physics, interior decorating, gardening, and herbology.... and a bunch more.

I watch a lot of documentaries and read when the brain fog permits.
