Hamsters do it well ;
Not all can be ha-i-ku --
It has to have grace.

Jedis are careful,
Deliberate and measured,
But not good at counting.

We tend to stick to a pretty general definition of haiku here, and I'm guilty of that as well here... you don't want to be the only guy writing 5-3-3 haiku for example :D but I thought this might be of interest to some of you. It gives you a more "contemporary" definition of haiku, including kigo, kireji etc.

I'm not posting this to say "You're all doing it wrong!" because there is no "wrong", I just thought it might be interesting :)

It doesn't matter;
"Learn the rules, and then forget,"
Those were Basho's words.

Reliah writes well
So really, let's not worry
About stupid "rules" ;)

On the subject of change (v Jedi) and I'm having "ev-ry-thing" as 3 syllables, I'm British ;) :

Change is everything
Leaves drift along the river
To meet with the falls

or maybe

Everything is change
Spring wind touches river ice
Unlocks autumn leaves

...ohlord. now I want to try a haiku in my native dialect...

"Ev-er-ee-thang stinks
Y'all talk all 'em fancy words
book-larnin' ain't me."

Jedi Knight

The self-confidence of the warrior is not the self-confidence of the average man. The average man seeks certainty in the eyes of the onlooker and calls that self-confidence. The warrior seeks impeccability in his own eyes and calls that humbleness. The average man is hooked to his fellow men, while the warrior is hooked only to infinity.
