Just looking to discuss if there are any other wannabe Crawlers out there who are enjoying Matt Dinniman's books, and also have gotten their greedy little fingers into the TTRPG backing?
Also excitement for book 8 in a few weeks!!!!
(I am just finishing book 4 now)
Somehow received this the moment I locked in my backing of the TTRPG...

Its wild how popular this has gotten over the last few months. 

Even Dinniman himself is beside himself with just pure joy on how well.

First I've heard of it! What's it about?

   

Dungeon Crawler Carl is a series of books  written in a genre called Gamelit or LitRPG.

In which it reads as a player playing a game, or is part of a game system.

Without giving too much away...

The Earth is taken over by aliens for the purposes of a gameshow in which they take the population and given a choice of, either be exterminated or 'play a game' and enter the dungeon. If you make it through the dungeon you can try to win your planet back.

The story follows one of these dungeon 'Crawlers' - Carl - as he traverses through the dungeon levels.

There is a system AI that runs the dungeon and its a huge reality show for the rest of the universe. 

If you like wacky adventures, and have an open mind to gaming...? you will love it!!

Book 8 comes out this week? There is a BackerKit for the TTRPG (DnD-esque) set of rulebooks and setups for people to play it in their own made up dungeon.
