I am Rev. Rick Laws, known here as Atticus, and I have the privilege of serving as your Pastor.
On behalf of the Training Master and the Knight Candidate, I want to thank you all for your attendance today.
Let us begin the ceremony in reflective prayer led by the candidate.

First of all , it was an honour to have such an wonderful Jedi student , your ability to see people and help them is exceptional.Through the years that you were my student you have shown continuous growth and i am convinced that you will keep growing into your role here. The bond we share is forever, and I will always be there for you. And it gives me great joy that you, too, now have the honor of teaching future Jedi Knights. You are a great Jedi Knight and the Force is with you always.

Well, first and foremost, thank you to my TM, the Reverend Senior Knight Serenity. I’ve spent days thinking about what to say here, because I truly don’t have the words. Thank you for your grace, your wisdom, your patience, and your steady example of what it means to be a Jedi Knight. Thank you for giving up your breakfast time on so many occasions when I needed someone to talk through things with, and your patience waiting for me to finally come to the realizations that were probably obvious to you from the very beginning of those conversations. Thank you for your steady support and patience as I tried to find a way to balance different challenges within my life, and gentle prodding along the way to prepare me for knighthood.

Most importantly, thank you for walking the walk. Getting to watch you handle the ups and downs of life with the grace and wisdom of a true Jedi has been the greatest lesson you could ever teach me. Watching you on your own journey has shown me what being a knight truly looks like, and I am incredibly proud to have had such an amazing example of that to learn from 2and to be able to say that you were my TM. I can only guess what the future might look like, what challenges and opportunities might arise, but I’d like to think that whatever my future might hold, I’ll encounter it with the grace and wisdom that I learned from you.
I also want to thank everyone else who has helped me on my journey. There are so many knights, as well as apprentices and initiates, and yes even those still working through the IP, who have taught me things along the way, too many to name or we’d be here all day. You all have encouraged me, challenged me, inspired me, nudged me, given me the space to grow and explore, given me new perspectives to consider, given me a better understanding of myself, and given me a community that makes me want to be the best version of myself. Truly thank you to everyone who I’ve encountered here at TotJO, as most of you will probably never realize how much you’ve helped me in my own journey. I look forward to finding my place among the Knight’s Corps and finding new ways to give back to this community that has become my family.
