Sure I can, ToTJO has been here since 2005, some of her members longer than that. lol. Though, I think I'll make a post for everyone to use for exploring the nature of "the Force".

That's an awful big leap to assume that all jedi sites are on the same page, or even want to be.

Is it really a big leap to believe that like every other Jedi group, there is some exploration into what exactly "the Force" is? Even Jedi Church talks about it from time to time...ummmm....I guess I can't really qualify any boards/pages I'm on...can I...?....come to think of it...I'm usually the one bringing it up....wonderful....

You just made me slightly depressed... :P

Just keepin it real.

Don't give up hope, the fact that they all get there eventually is evidence that something done in the past was done right. The oldies can't be expected to bring up every nuance of the movement in a lecture format, alot of it is an will be in the form of a novice asking a question or someone making a good observation that we can look at and say "bingo"

I find that can be true among the members of any given site as well. And I feel that stems from what we do existing within the realm of the philosophical, which is always open to interpretation.

Being different ages, and at different stages in our life's paths, we will reach these truths when we do....

All of our "rehashing", whether today, tomorrow, or a decade ago..

Is a realization, a "rehashing" of what others have said before us...

Alexandre quoted the Tao, which precedes any Jedi group...:)

And, I'm sure there were those that realized it before the Tao was written...

The important thing, as Andy has said, is that it gets realized....

And, that we try to help others learn this...

That's the second time Alethea, that you quoted Noel Vock, and I completely understand where he was/is coming from.... I have said I was "animal" before I evolved to "more" of a man...

Marcus Aurelius said, (I'm paraphrasing), "we are animals with the intelligence of the divine"....

As we leave our animal ways behind, we are getting closer to the divine....

We keep saying these things, in different ways, using different words, at different times, because just like a cog in a machine, you have to try different teeth depths, different teeth per square inch, at different times, to make the machine "click", and finally, the "light" comes on....

On walk-about...

Sith ain't Evil...
Jedi ain't Saints....

I spent a decent chunk of my life exploring both the Light and Dark aspects of the Force and Life in general. After my near death experience I started to crave the Darkness and those things that dwelt therein. Only after standing waste deep in the pit, alone did I truly appreciate the light. Only sitting on the razor's edge have I truly learned to appreciate them both....

Polyvalent logic. It exists it doesn't exist :D This is a new concept I love toting around. I enjoy it, but it basically explains how I think.

I guess in the end, does it matter? There is a sum of stuff what makes the Dark Path very different from a Light Path, regardless of energy/Force/universe being blind to such dualism. Just like stories are important in the message they carry, so does the concepts of different paths. I consider the Dark Path like a Left Hand Path, one that is not so unorthodox. Left Hand Path to me is very individualistic too, so my opinion is probably different from William's about what it is and isn't.

Interestingly enough, the Force isn't really big on the Darks priority list. . I find it the least beneficial or relevant study one can engage in really.

Nor is it some psychobabble new age B.S. I'm not really concerned about people subliminal psychotic potential....whatever. Go see a therepist for that if its that big a hurdle.

As for self interest....ive not seen a person yet who doesn't act in there own self interest. The only study involved should be in pursuit of it.

Simply put, Dark studies teach that life is a zero sum game, and to be in it to win it,and get what you want out of it, and that there is a huge difference between intentions and results, and the former means nothing in lieu of the latter.

The Force? Not really that important. Just something that takes up time that could be better spent doing something constructive.

The Order of the Sith Lords introductory lessons request that students define the Sith Code, which contains a line about the Force, so most add in a definition of the Force... and then leave the Force concept alone.

Unless they're one of these "darker-than-thou" types who wants to kickstart this whole Sithism thing. Ugh.
