FA's Current Status

For awhile now, we have had some serious technical issues at Force Academy. It's been a nuisance, and a pain in my side. XD Which, happens to be the same case as what happened in 2009 when we moved from the .com to the .co.uk

As it stands, there is a group of people in the group that are hopeful to rebuild Force Academy under a new domain. For now, because the site is being finicky, one of the earliest members of the Dark Aspect has surfaced and set up a "raft" site to help develop our final home at a .us domain. One thing that Satelle has expressed is that she wants to know that there is a real interest in rebuilding FA from the ground up, and as such she is inviting members from across the community that may have an interest in the order to come onto the raft site to help out.

If you're interested, the raft is at http://theforce.knowsitall.info/index.php

Do you want ForceAcademy.org to forward to that address for now. It's going to the .uk one at the moment?

It is a free hosted site which uses a Dynamic DNS, which is why it raises red flags.

Just to be sure, send me by PM all your financial information, and I will keep it safe for you.

It’s not being renamed. Unless you mean changing the domain from .co.uk to .org/.us.

This move was necessary because colin wasn’t working with us. We wanted more direct control over the site so changes could be made and issues could be resolved in a timely manner.

That was more important to us, as it will be easy enough to redirect people from the .co.uk.

Ah. Forgive my missunderstanding since this "Raft" site has a completely different name than force academy and the mention of a "Domain Name" - the two together seemed to imply a complete name change and not just the .com/ect ect

I understand the need for greater control over administrations - I am not questioning the move or motive :) meerly the preservation of the sites origins.

Wouldn't your job as a historian be to simply observe and record the change, not necessarily have an opinion or influence on it?

One thing that Satelle has expressed is that she wants to know that there is a real interest in rebuilding FA from the ground up, and as such she is inviting members from across the community that may have an interest in the order to come onto the raft site to help out.

Sounds like selling off the assets, raising a new company, and trading off the reputation and goodwill of the old brand to the benefit of the new shareholders.

I don't really know anything about, nor am I invested in FA, but if Satelle and Co have views of a new "Ground Up" jedi realist club, perhaps just start again afresh?

you won't be able to say "FA, Est: 1866" but I guess if you're changing everything that is a philosophical issue anyway - of the lincolns axe variety.
