If you guys want to keep trolling that's fine, it's what I expected and I should have known better than to ask.

However I am trying to answer a question.

Do you pick a life of wealth, and give up what gives your life meaning in return.

Or do you live in poverty, and focus on what gives you meaning.

This wasn't a let's invent some third option and have your cake and eat it too, and if you can't do that you are stupid argument.

If I had a way to have both I surely would not be here asking for your opinions.

I am asking which you value more, an empty life filled with money, or a life of purpose and brutal poverty.

There is no third realistic option.

You are right, this is real life, but we all die.

In the end it doesn't matter if we were kings or paupers, death is the great equalizer.

I'll take it your vote is to pursue money and live an empty life.

I respect that, and it may be the route I go.

again, this beautiful dream of living in genteel poverty accomplishing some romantic task is nice. we all that them. the trouble is, we all also have a real life to come back to.'

okay, NOW last post.

WHOSE trolling now? if i didnt know further details about your situation via PM, i would say your ambiguous answers, scorn for advice and general evasiveness where themselves an attempt at trolling those who would give you honest advice.

now, you want to say i pursue money and live an empty life??? guy, you dont know me from adam. it has been a long hard road to where i am, and it is FAR from an empty life. and again, i'll thank you not to make assumptions about others life choices and to assign erroneous values to them.

I have no idea what you are saying. I assume you are telling me to drop my dreams and pursue a career.

If I misunderstood something please let me know.

Clear as mud.

What I get from speaking with you is that you value money and a career, over unrealistic dreams and poverty.

I respect that, and it may be the route I head in the near future.

I am not attacking you or your choices in life.

I really dont see any trolling, but I do ask everyone to chill...;)

maynoth, life is full of such trouble...

What would happen if you built your dream, if it was possible? When you are done, then what?

Would you be content? sitting in your castle?

I have only skimmed this thread, so forgive me if I missed this line of thought...

You know why Im happy with what I have? barely making ends meet each month?

Spending hours each day on this site? Doing the things I love?

Cause I am...

Is the castle your goal? or the doing and accomplishing of something you love? the endeavor, and enjoyment it would bring...

I think that you wont be content and happy, until you realize that you dont need anything, you have it all...

Its a hard concept to understand, I dont know how many here really get it...

On walk-about...

Sith ain't Evil...
Jedi ain't Saints....

oh? why then do you assume that 'pursue money and live an empty life' is what you will do if you follow an actual career instead of building a castle, of all things? should that reasoning not also apply to my choices?

you are starting this decision process with false assumptions. how can you then think to come to un false conclusions?

the fact is maynoth, as various people have put here many times and you apparently havent read, you dont know the future. you simply have to weigh the probabilities of the outcomes of your current, present day decisions. and building a castle all day long for decades simply is not realistic.

I don't want to argue about it any more. I'll assume your advice to me is to pursue a career, and give up my dreams. That's fine.

I appreciate your input.
