I'm faced with a serious life choice.

It's between pursuing a professional career, and money.

Or my dreams and poverty (relative to the standard of living I want).

Each path requires a sacrifice, and I don't really know which is more important.

To live a life filled with money and carnal pleasure, or to pursue my dreams and live below a standard of living I am comfortable with.

You guys seem to be more focused on real life than I am, so what are your opinions on such a choice?

What will make you happy and still pay the bills?

I am one of those people who lives in poverty and I am really happy with life!

I do it by keeping my expenses low. Enough such that I am even saving money!

I don't live in absolute poverty mind you but I'm not earning more than £1000 a month and that includes state benefits... Of course I also don't have dependants which helps. But I am poor and I am happy

There are lots of free things that are enjoyable, this site for instance ;)

Why is a professional career filled with carnal pleasure? Why not save that money? Perhaps save enough so that you can then stop and pursue your dream and have a better standard of living. Maybe invest in shares or buy property and rent for a small side income along with a small job to keep you going? :)

Dreams are great! :) but sometimes they just have to wait a little while :)

Money and the career.

You can be rich and live poor, but you cant be poor and live rich (well not for the long term anyway).

Following dreams later isn't an option, if it were that's what I would be doing.

I wish this were possible. I can give up my dreams in pursuit of money and a career, or I can go into poverty to pursue them full time.

I can't do both though.

I knew you'd say that. Your thoughts and beliefs limit you. Anything and everything is possible if you believe. You can find balance. It's tough but life can be and the best things are never easy.

What does your heart tell you to do?

Unless you are going to die, following dreams later IS an option. I know, I did it.
