Why dd you pick qigong over tai chi?

I thought Qigong visualization was more peacefull, calming and internal than tai chi. I'm not opposed to trying tai chi someday it's just my opinion that jumping around to different styles isn't necessary so much as sticking and mastering one the best I can.

I also check out sword meditations thinking there was more physical fitness benefit but how would that look in a public place or the back yard. 911!!!!

I'm still learning and expect it will always be a learning/refining activity. I've read extensivly, bought books, watched videos. I've selected moves that feels (I'm big into intuition) right for me rather than follow a specific style.

It's the consistant practice, which I'm not real good at, and self discover thats important.

Have you tried Quigong?

I'm really happy with how thisgs are going.

Good! Give it a go.

Have fun, it's not like doing pushups. It's should be a mild effort and enjoyable I think if you enjoy exploring an ancient art and self discovery then thati In itself is rewarding.

I'd would welcome and enjoy the discussions. :)

Rickie is definitely right. Consistency is probably the best way to grow in Qigong.

I used to do it, but I refused to do it every day, and it ended up not doing much for me. Resonance.

I'll start with some website I've read since they are free. Keep an open mind as you read. There is an initial reaction that some of tthis is BS but there is truth to be found. Take what seems right for you and grow from there.

I read about a dozen+ websites to gather what they had in common and went on from there

Start here and I'll post more as I look them up.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qigong

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baduanjin_qigong

I clicked of several links from wiki

qi.org/index.php?option=com_content&task...id=3&id=18&Itemid=43

qi.org/index.php?option=com_content&task...id=3&id=18&Itemid=43

www.qigonginstitute.org/html/GettingStarted.php

Don't get hung up on finding the best or most perfect. Caution: this seems ridiculously simple, don't underestimate it and bee patient. If it feels good use it.

Remember, I'm new at this and am willing to share what I know and have done but I am no expert.

Post your thoughts and we can discuss this if you want.

I list the two books I have when I bring them to work too.

Mark Anjuu wrote: I regularly practice Shibashi Qigong (although I follow my teacher, there are also instructional videos about it on YouTube) and occasionally other forms such as a 5-Element one or one known as the Healing Form that's quite short but powerful. I find it's really good for centering and energising, or at least giving me more access to the Force.

Donkey check this out too. I'm confident Mark has much knowledge and experience to share.
