In other words, the everlasting Jedi Gobstopper. (Thank You Master Ang)
Another ‘self test’ it is something that is rarely taught directly but comes with self discipline.
When you have completed the entire Initiates Programme, you will understandably be eager to begin training with a Master. Well, it is only fair to warn you now that you may have to wait a while. Training is not something completed in a few days. It takes at least 8 months (and that’s with an ideal Master/Apprentice relationship). There is also a big difference between the numbers ‘waiting’ for a Master and available Masters. There are around 10 Initiates for every active teaching Master. There are many who ‘drop out’ or fade away (get bored, or decide Jediism isn’t quite for them) but this still leaves a waiting list. Most teaching Masters also prefer to train one Apprentice at a time.
Also, everyone here is a real human living in the real world. We don't live in a monastery where we can devote our entire lives solely to Jedi training. Most of us, and this means all members of all ranks, have real world commitments, family, friends, work (jobs and schooling), and many other ‘distractions’. Likewise, the running of the Temple itself requires a lot of time and energy from the staff (Senior Temple Members) so with this in mind, we ask you to be patient and understanding. It is not uncommon to wait several months to over a year for a Master. As already discussed earlier in this guide, the Master/Apprentice relationship is not taken lightly and every Master needs to be sure they are offering their services to a suitably receptive Apprentice.
You can help yourself, (and get yourself ‘noticed’), without actually trying too hard. Simply participate in the site, post in the forums, reply to topics and blogs, use chat, just be ‘sociable’ and in the meantime, don’t wait to be ‘told’ what to do. There is a huge amount of information and resources to be utilised, within our Temple halls (the forums, articles, blogs, etc) as well as the internet and world at large. Some ways to NOT be noticed, or noticed for the wrong reasons, include ‘I NEED A MASTER’ and breaching our few and very fair/reasonable forum/site ‘rules’ (which are basic manners in all honesty).
If you have any questions or concerns, about this Programme or ANYTHING else, please do not hesitate in asking one of the Knights or Masters using our Private Messaging system. If it is urgent, then it is best to use the Shoutbox to inform the recipient that you have sent them an urgent Private Message (PM for short). Sometimes, members are away from their computers, or even logged out and the server hasn’t caught up. So you may not get a reply as swiftly as you expect/hope.
Good luck with your journey and journal and May The Force be With You – Always.
