Violence is state of Mind and can be Eliminated

Violence doesn't have to be a physical act. It is a state of mind and can be emotional,

Violence can be subtle. It can manifest itself in what and how we think,

We believe that everything comes from our mind. There's violence in this world because we haven't learned to control our mind. If the only emotion in the heart is peace, then everything else dissolves.

Violence is speaking to someone harshly or looking at someone in a certain way that hurts their feelings, thus making that person feel bad all day.

Giving into Violence we give into the Dark Side of ourselves, not only emotionally but also physically as well.

If there's violence in the world, we have created it. Even if we think thoughts that hurt ourselves, that's violence. Small acts grow exponentially.

Everyone who comes into our world is an extension of ourselves.

Everyone's pain is my pain and everyone's joy is my joy. It's called equalizing the self with others. It's developing equanimity.

It's an illusion to believe that we are separate from each other. People often say 'we are one' but if we really understand what that means, we would have love and compassion for one another and feel each other's pain.

Feeling a sense of pride for helping others is flawed thinking. Our minds have become so selfish, we come up with clever ways to justify how we think.

Even though religion is sometimes used by the corrupt to separate people, similarities in religion abound. Christianity teaches that 'you reap what you sow', As does Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism, Islam and others.

We all suffer afflictions such as: Envy, Pride, Lust, Hatred, Doubt, Anger, Delusions, Attachment to material things, etc..

Every time we do something, say something or think something, we plant a seed that flowers. That flowering, good or bad, makes for our life experience, and it's not about feeling guilty, it's about being aware and repositioning our mind. Developing a loving heart is basically extending the definition of who you are.

People may feel a lot of fear and believe the world is a prison or they may change their mindset and consider the world is full of possibilities.

Every ounce of pain I see comes from trying to serve myself and any happiness I see comes from serving others.

The root of our suffering comes from thinking we are disconnected from each other.

Jediism, is becoming popular not because of the Star Wars movies and books, but because it is a Philosophy and a Way of Life that produces positive results. Peoples lives who were once suffering, are now filled with Peace.

So remember that every person that you meet, is just a reflection of Yourself.
And by hurting them, you are hurting You.

So whatever spiritual path that you follow, using the teachings of the Jedi will not only enhance your faith, but it will also make the Light that is within you shine even more Brightly.

Are you saying that humans create violence? I disagree- if a shark kills a fish, isn't that violence?

Also, is everybody capable of overcoming the urge for violence in this day and age? To overcome violence requires a strong connection to a persons inner peace. Violence is a part of human nature.

Violence is a part of nature, full stop.

Are we all as one spirtually? I'm not sure about that. I believe that we're all made of the same stuff though and that empathy is an acknowledment of that.

A shark killing a fish is normal and it's for food so while it may appear violent to us it's not the same as a human harming a human.

No one is the same, neither genetically or spiritually. One of the few things that everybody actually has in common is that we are human.

If a shark eats a fish, it is survival, it is life. Nature.

If I am violent toward a person, what is gained? Nothing.
For self defense, maybe. But for gain? Emotional or materialistic? Sad reasons. But shown, time and time again in the news.

Hard to not be violent, even emotionally. But not impossible, maybe it feels improbable. I hope that you have never been wronged, but victims have been known to forgive the perpetrator.

Everyone IS capable. But only the willing will succeed.

not sure if i agree with some of the replies to this post, i just tried to read it for what it is without letting my thoughts run away with me... i found it to be quite good and thought provoking
