i think mostly its that we choose to pay attention to the trash
certainly theres no shortage of it and sometimes i get pretty frustrated that i cant look up song lyrics without some weird advertisement taking over the whole screen - like the whole idea is to literally force me to read the ad against my will, like i feel ive been textually assaulted - but if i dont eat it the effects of the force feeding are that i realize i was not forced at all really, just inconvenienced
