Rhode Island Girl Violence - A Deceptive and Despicable Act of Young Violence and Evil. 07 Aug 2012 03:05 #69484

(This is only the preview, since the whole Dr. Phil episode costs money. Look for it if you're interested in seeing more.)

Now, first of all, I want to explain that I have NEVER been a fan of Dr. Phil. In my opinion, his shows are biased and unhelpful, and cover only the most disturbing material. So I really never watch him. However, I was drawn to this episode of Dr. Phil. Why?

The background info: In Rhode Island, 4 girls invited the (victim) girl to a sleepover - the (victim) girl not knowing what was about to happen to her. When she arrived, they ganged up and beat her head vigorously. One of them video taped the assault and posted it on YouTube. The international media went hysterical. They claimed that the "4 girls lured the victim and beat her, even though they knew she had a brain problem". Whether or not the media was fair or biased, it is certain that the attacking 4 girls committed a crime, and they now face felony charges and lawsuits. One of the mothers, of the attacking girls, has said that she has lost all control of her daughter, and that she wants her (the attacking girl and her daughter) to be locked up.

As you can see, this whole situation was and is sickening. I can't help but think about how these 4 girls might have ruined their future success and life by doing this one act of extreme violence.

On a side note, we Jedi believe in moving on past the past. However, I'm sure that if any Jedi claimed to have done this sort of thing in the past, it would haunt him or her for the rest of his or her life. These types of traumatizing and truthfully EVIL behaviors will not fade away.

What really surprised me, however, was that all these girls (the attackers) were very pretty girls. In addition, they claimed to have good grades in school. I really wonder how these pretty and (supposedly) smart girls could have become hardened criminals.

I forgot to mention that these attacking girls met up with the victim girl on this show. And they showed NO remorse for their actions. Moreover, none of them apologized at first, and Dr. Phil had to break their spirits in order to get a basic apology out of any of them.

These attacking girls actions, at the time of the assault, were morally wrong. However, above all that, the way they responded to the attack (which could have diffused the situation) was despicable (because they showed no remorse or humbleness for what they did).

Personally, I'm furious.

It's not much to go on, but they might just not be very smart and probably lived a shielded life....I've been told by an attractive lady that sometimes really attractive girls can experience a strange situation where they grow up being the centre of attention constantly just because they are pretty, and they end up developing a whole value system based on getting more and more attention.

When that happens sometimes since it's all they've known, when they are not (or fear becoming not) perceived as the centre of attention anymore, they can develop some unusual habits such as body image disorders, self mutiliation and attention seeking violance perhaps like is demonstrated in this video.

It might explain why they somehow assert blame onto the victim because if the vitcim had a pre-existing mental condition then the 'pretty' girls might have thought she was taking attention away from them. Looking at the victim, who would also be considered physically attractive surely, I guess they might have felt threatened by her looks as well. Peer dynamics can also make individuals do things they would not do on their own because a cycle of reinforcement within a circle of people can override ones own thoughts and feelings.

I'll be honest with you, seanching. I am all furied out. That may come as some surprise to those that know me and/or follow my public FB postings. I write about a lot of contentious stuff: gay rights, campaign finance reform, religion, war, etc. I write about it, but its always with a sense of...if not humor, then fatalism, inconsequence. I mean, ultimately, we are all shadows and dust adrift on a little blue orb around a dying star. All we know, all we have seen, all we have done fades to inconsequence over time.

'On a long enough timeline, we are all dead.' Keynes

So in conclusion, yeah, that sucks. But so does any one of the thousands of other terrible things I have seen over the course of my life. And its not that I don't care. But I simply cannot care about it ALL without going crazier. And I cannot allow that to happen.

It's really not that surprising or uncommon. Humans as a species tend to be a bit violent. Pretty girls included. As for this instance I wonder how much is written in. I'm sure if the girls had apologized and cried right away the show would not have been as interesting and Dr. Phil wouldn't have had to work his magic. (Though, I do have to say I haven't seen the show)

You've been watching too much Fox I think.
(supposedly) smart girls could have become hardened criminals.

OK allow me to say this: posting evidence of your crime on youtube = HIGHLY RETARDED
To be or not to be... Why bother with the question?

Sean thinks: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Spot on, Ren. I actually agree with that put down. Good job...

Sean replies: I completely agree with you on that. They basically testified against themselves by doing that. I mean it's just as stupid as robbing a general store and then leaving your picture ID on the counter so that the police can reliably track you down and book you - which DID happen, by the way...

When I was of similar age, there were a couple of girls down the block....

One my age, and her sister, a year or two younger...

They, plus one or two other girls lured another girl to their house, after school, and tourtured her...

She was made to do things, and had things done to her, that made this beatdown seem trivial, by comparison..

One of the results is she lost the option to have children... I can't speak of the emotional trauma, or any other physical issues, cause we just don't discuss those type things...

The victim and i were, and still are friends.... She was/is still nice and polite, I'm friends with her younger brother too...

Animals.... Thinking animals....

When we are born, we are 100% animal.... As we age, we aspire to the more devine, more heavenly... Paraphrasing the intro to Marcus Aurelius' Meditations, "We are bodies of animals, with the minds of gods"...

All of our bad qualities, can be compared to some animal somewhere, only our thoughts and intelligence are ours.... (lessor forms exist yes, but I am comparing black/white, not subtle shades of grey)

These are animals wanting to feel power over another, relish in it...

I'm not judging, I've committed my atrocities... I will answer for them...

Re: Rhode Island Girl Violence - A Deceptive and Despicable Act of Young Violence and Evil. 07 Aug 2012 12:13 #69517

I once knew a guy who didn't have any friends, one day a guy from a gang of bullies asked him if he wanted to hangout, the guy was over joyed at the thought someone wanted to be his friend, so he did, when they walked home, they went down an alleyway, the gang of bullies then savagely beat the kid, he was left bleeding and bruised, broken ribs and everything. He had to crawl all the way to his Grandmothers house in order to get aid, she wasn't in, so he laid in the garden bleeding & Wheezing, it started to rain and he was left out in the cold crying, bloodied and beaten.

He was only 13 at the time, he ended up in hospital for a week after that he didn't go back to school for a very long time and he refused to make a statement to the police, during his time spent at home recuperating he made friends with a guy online, he became the guys friend, he'd listen to him when he was feeling down, he'd play games with him online all the time, one day the guy from online (lets call him Tom for all intensive purposes & the kid, lets call him Luke), Tom asked him if he'd like to meet up and hang out in person, now Luke thought this guy was his age and he'd found a friend too.

So Luke placed trust in Tom, he went round to Toms house, except Tom wasn't 13, he was 33, Tom savagely raped and beat Luke, it brought back very bad memories, then Tom dumped Luke's beaten and unconscious body out in the woods. Luke was found by a dog walker, yet again put in hospital, this time for two weeks, Luke became very very depressed, he didn't go to the police about Tom either, after that Luke went back to school but he struggled to be around any type of person, he just spent a lot of time alone, thinking, learning.

He became very twisted and sick, for two years solid he turned into something dark, something unnatural, one day he was walking home and one of the bullies from before was laying on the ground having fallen over and hurt themselves quite badly, Luke walked up to him and helped him get up, he even helped him get all the way home.

Luke became very animalistic, he regressed into a beast, whenever someone was being violent he'd step in and start a fight whenever he could, he never struck a woman, a child or an elderly person.

He became very sadistic too, he used to enjoy causing people pain, soon he attracted the attention of a girl, whom he fell in love with, she was kind, caring and made him want to be good and do good, she taught him right from wrong, they spent a while together, she was two years older than him which was nice, he enjoyed it.

She died when he was 17, in a car accident, whilst pregnant with his child, this killed him inside, completely ruined him, the best part was, the driver of the car that hit her car was one of the old bullies who was drunk and high on drugs at the time, he took everything he had learned from her, he remained nice, calm, kind and gentle but like a coin, he had two sides, a very angry depressed side that'd come out sometimes, he was fractured, broken and damaged. But eventually he took time, healed (Time is a great healer) and became a good person whom wants to help, care for and make others lives better.

Morale of the story; No matter how much crap lifes throws at you, stay strong.

Once someone told me something that's very true, Success is getting up more times than you've fallen over.

thank you Mistah J tthank you!thats exactly it....
People seem to think that compassion and kindness are in all human beings...sadly it is not.
Watching my sister the other day kill ants...not a crime im sure alot of people have done that when they were little...i was not one lol i love all animals and insects...i was a little weird...

I asked here why she was killing them she replied "im bored"
I tried to apeal to her compassion"they have familys to feed"
she replies" they are just bugs"

my sister is a very pretty little girl.she has lacked for nothing. She never asks please and everything needs to be done exactly the way she wants it....She use to tell my mom i hit her all the time, mom evetnualy found out that my sister just liked to see her hit me.

shes not a bad little girl she just has not had the opertuniies to be shaped into a compassionate human being.I had many.

that is how people do the thinks they do.they never learn compassion kindness never realize that others feel as much as them.,that they feel pain just like them.they are detached.

Dont hate them,pitty them...

    • Shadow beings are those people or entities who are still here in our plane of existence. People do not understand that just because the body dies does not mean that that person is non-existent. Shadow people are just energy in a form that we are not aware of or that we can fully comprehend. I have seen shadow people and have had multiple experiences obtaining to shadow people. Not all shadow people are people who can not move on to the next plain of existence. Some of entities who are here for reasons only they know of, if they even know. Death is nothing but a phase in the existence of life.
    • God vs Ego (Last post by Reliah)
    • Quote: One has to remember, there is no such thing as good or evil, its all about power. Right or wrong, it all based on one's point of view or perception. One person can teach a child that drinking after someone else from the same bottle is wrong. While someone else says that its wrong and is only right to share, and they drink from someone else's bottle. It's like a saying that comes from a movie (those who know the movie, well done, those who don't, well...find out) "If a man kills another man in battle, he is a hero, but is a man kills another man in the heat of passion, he's a murderer." In the Middle East, if you steal, you get your hand cut off. In America, if you steal, you may get away with it or just spend a few days or months in jail. With the subject of a 'god.' it also depends on how one is brought up and taught. It is also based on what one truly believes. I personally think that so called gods and goddess in the past are nothing but flesh and blood creatures that existed in the past. They are not spiritual beings that came out of wherever. Remember, those Mayans and Aztecs thought the white Europeans were gods when they arrived on their shores in South America. So, again...its based on one's point of view and what they are taught. Indeed, this is a very personal experience - the angel and devil and the consciousness (the god). It would, of course, all be subject to an individual and their experience of reality. The key point is in realizing it and finding balance - as an individual - and that way will differ from person to person. I think the word "god" leaves a bitter taste in most people's mouths, but in this case, "god" is a word meaning your own, personal "higher self", not a religious god.

    • Sometimes were have to fight fire with fire. Sometimes we can fight fire with water. It depends on the situation. Look at WWII when the U.S. bombed Japan with two atom bombs. It was to the point that there was not other choice but to "fight fire with fire." Look at Germany, some say it had to be torn apart by bombs and other means in order to stop Hitler. Sometimes we can talk our way out of violent means, and unfortunately violence is the only means to end a conflict. I believe it depends on the situation, and the severity of the situation.

    • Is the Bible the Literal Word of God? (Last post by suliskveteba)
    • again, as I have stated in my own biblical thread, the Bible is a dusty old abstract Tome, potentially beautiful and lifechanging, but hardly literally true, in the west with the KJV and NIV atrocities to the translations ( here's to Augustine *raises glass*, oh and Calvin ( who gave his best friend an excruciating death of living incineration)) we can't really say much on the Bible, St Ignatius of Antioch has been metaphorically crucified ( get it?) by protestants for saying the NT is better than OT because the NT has the gospel, life of Christ and his teachings, the core of Christianity.
    • the bible..............*sighs* (Last post by suliskveteba)
    • trying to seperate myself from the previous frustration of impatience that I had when I posted the original post here, the bible is mainly a story book (Old testament), a book with great poetry and symbolism, with beautiful stories and lessons to be learnt, when it isn't a story, it is an abstract form of philosophy or meaning that is supposed to teach you a lesson every time you read it. I am not arguing against the bible, but like philosophy, I was arguing against the reactions of: - Claiming the Bible is pure divine text ( sometimes the claim of "only divine text") - Taking every single word of the Bible as truth or literal meaning both reactions don't hold true to the original meaning or motivation of the Bible.

    • Quote: Why such angst towards Lucifer? Maybe Lucifer gave him a bad birthday present sometime? ;) On a more serious note, I would personally like to meet the Dalai Lama as he is a man of great wisdom, is very well versed and is knowledgeable. I suppose meeting him could be considered akin to meeting the Pope, as I have heard from friends and other ears that meeting either religious man is both humbling and wonderful. The Dalai Lama also serves as an inspiration to many, as he continues to advocate for a free Tibet despite having the odds stacked against him, so to learn of how he holds such strong resolve in light of such adversity not only intrigues me but also makes me respect the man a great deal more. I'm not overly fond of actors, yet meeting Harrison Ford would be very cool indeed if I was given the chance :D

    • Nature of "the Force" (Light/Dark dicoto... (Last post by Adder)
    • Quote: A comparison i typically use in the Star Wars online roleplaying community i am a part of is to take the colour purple. It is after all a single colour but we of course know that is is made of two different colours, blue and red. It is through either calm, peaceful communion or the use of raw emotion and passion that either one of these sides or colours can then be distinguished and as such felt and communed with. Sometimes I feel like the dichotomy of light and dark is akin to a black and white TV versus a color TV, and it leaves me wondering 'what about the colors!!!'. Purple is almost like an energetic grey in that way. Of course the dichotomy is not of these things, but what they represent. Still, I was looking at the color spectrum and cannot help but think red at one end and purple at the other are very different from light versus dark (with are very much poles apart).... since purple is a combination of the antipole red, plus blue! So I like to see red as standing for passion/sacrifice and at the other end the purple color really is a clash between that red and blue, ie conflict. It could make more sense for purple to represent conflict as it does actual show a higher energy state. So then going all Star Wars (sorry Zenchi) red blades could represent a call for victims to sacrifice on the Sith blade, while blue a call to conflict so it can be settled best by the Jedi way together with green as protective and harmonious midpoint. In which case a color Force dichotomy could be passion/red/giving of oneself to a cause, versus conflict/purple/exhausting resources through competition for a cause. It also aligns well with blood, red is fresh and oxygenated ready for use, while purple is rare and causes tension around it. One of the things I like about dichotomies is that by having two points they automatically create a midpoint. So in this regard I feel like the color version of grey might not be purple like I first thought, but instead green!

    • LOL ... :cheer: Last week it was Jestor covering the soap box with controvery. Now look ... All things, even equality, considered, you're right, Wescli. And that was sort of what I had "hoped" to get to by this. It isn't clear as to whether or not we're not really all equals, for the story of the carreer in baseball aspirations doesn't imply that shortstop or first baseman could programme a robot to tear up a hill ... We are not all equal in all domains ; that is an evidence. It is unsure whether we have equal potential even in all domains. I'm personally not much of a determinist, but do feel that we have dispositions which render us better at some things than at others. Still ... And S - you are on to something there about the ones who are disappointed when things turn out better. Here in France, we are always listening to the whinings of those who are all salty about things not living down to their expectations. And if one thinks well about it, the Schopenhauerian toad would definitely make ones day better. Toad skin secretes a sort of tryptamine, bufotenin, which acts as a sort of neurotransmitter that is the same or similar as found in some mushrooms and plants. So, by swallowing a toad for breakfast - one would be flying high nicely for a good part of the day. :woohoo: It is this which is reputed to have given us all the faerie tales about princesses kissing toads and they miraculously turn into princely lovers ...
