I am going to disagree with your statement that we are not fictional character.
Let me explain.
You are what you are do the sum of all that you have learned to become.
If you remove all that you have learned to become, "what are you in reality?"
That which is left of the real you is totally different from your preconceived
beliefs about yourself and the world around you.
You see the world from one spectrum of light, but does that make it the correct
view of the way the world is?
What about those who only see in black and white?
What about the animals who see in other spectrum's?
To see what is we would really need to see in all spectrum's.
X-rays, Gamma rays, Ultra-Viloet, Visible, Infrared, Mircrowave, and Radio.
Those are all spectrum's of light. And to see the world as it really is
we would need to be able to see all of it.
Then move on to hearing. The range according to wikipedia is 20Hz to 20,000Hz.
While a mouse can hear 1Hz to 70Hz. For correct hearing of what really is
we would need to be able to hear the full spectrum of what can be heard.
But we can't
The same goes with smell, taste, and feeling. There are things that we can not
perceive. So our understanding of the world is a creation of our mind and what
we think we understand of the world around us. This is in essence a fictional
belief system of the world. What would the world be like to us, if we had
full perception and understanding of all that is around us. It would be
totally different from what we consider real now.
Then there are your learned responses to stimuli. Are you going to say that
you have chosen the correct course for every single circumstance that has
come into your life? Just one mistake shows that you are a fictional creation
of your own mind. What you are now, you created yourself to become. If you
wanted to be something else, why are you not that instead? Because you lost
your vision of a better tomorrow that was buried under the fictional you, that you
created of your own-self.
For example if you wanted to be a fireman, but instead you are a janitor, what
changed? Circumstances? Yes, in part. But the reality is that you gave up
on becoming a fireman. You let the woes and worries and concerns of the world
dampen your spirit and darken your mind to the point that you saw no way out
other than what you chose. What you chose is a fictional creation of your own
mind. You gave up on your dream. And even if you did become a fireman an in the
example this is still fictional. It is still a creation of your mind. You are
not a fireman even if that is your occupation. You are not even male or female.
The real you is something greater than the body even all the while it is part
of the body.
The force is what gives life. It is all around you. It surrounds you. It penetrates
every fiber of your being. It is what holds the very atoms of the universe together.
It is the nature of all things, whether they be mineral, plant, animal, or spirit.
And therein lies the truth of the matter is that which is spirit is closer to the
truth than that which is mineral. But all obey the same laws.
The rock is what it is due to the same laws that you are what you are. I know that
many will not agree with my post here. But what I write is from years of study of
many religions and beliefs about the nature of reality.
It has been said, "What you are, so is your world. ... It matters little what is
without, for it is all a reflection of your own state of consciousness. It matters
everything what are you within, for everything without will be mirrored and
colored accordingly."
James Allen. From Poverty to Power (1901).
So to say,

I find I must totally disagree with.
