    • again, as I have stated in my own biblical thread, the Bible is a dusty old abstract Tome, potentially beautiful and lifechanging, but hardly literally true, in the west with the KJV and NIV atrocities to the translations ( here's to Augustine *raises glass*, oh and Calvin ( who gave his best friend an excruciating death of living incineration)) we can't really say much on the Bible, St Ignatius of Antioch has been metaphorically crucified ( get it?) by protestants for saying the NT is better than OT because the NT has the gospel, life of Christ and his teachings, the core of Christianity.

    • trying to seperate myself from the previous frustration of impatience that I had when I posted the original post here, the bible is mainly a story book (Old testament), a book with great poetry and symbolism, with beautiful stories and lessons to be learnt, when it isn't a story, it is an abstract form of philosophy or meaning that is supposed to teach you a lesson every time you read it. I am not arguing against the bible, but like philosophy, I was arguing against the reactions of: - Claiming the Bible is pure divine text ( sometimes the claim of "only divine text") - Taking every single word of the Bible as truth or literal meaning both reactions don't hold true to the original meaning or motivation of the Bible.

    • Would this be equated to Campbell's use of duality and the fact that it is an illusion. Only when you realize there is no duality can you understand where each side originated and come to an understanding of it. Of course you can't completely separate yourself from the Good and the Bad and learn to see them as coming from one thing but you can try your best to understand it. In a sense it is naivety, yet understanding.

I suppose meeting him could be considered akin to meeting the Pope, as I have heard from friends and other ears that meeting either religious man is both humbling and wonderful. The Dalai Lama also serves as an inspiration to many, as he continues to advocate for a free Tibet despite having the odds stacked against him, so to learn of how he holds such strong resolve in light of such adversity not only intrigues me but also makes me respect the man a great deal more. I'm not overly fond of actors, yet meeting Harrison Ford would be very cool indeed if I was given the chance :D

It could make more sense for purple to represent conflict as it does actual show a higher energy state. So then going all Star Wars (sorry Zenchi) red blades could represent a call for victims to sacrifice on the Sith blade, while blue a call to conflict so it can be settled best by the Jedi way together with green as protective and harmonious midpoint. In which case a color Force dichotomy could be passion/red/giving of oneself to a cause, versus conflict/purple/exhausting resources through competition for a cause. It also aligns well with blood, red is fresh and oxygenated ready for use, while purple is rare and causes tension around it. One of the things I like about dichotomies is that by having two points they automatically create a midpoint. So in this regard I feel like the color version of grey might not be purple like I first thought, but instead green!

And that was sort of what I had "hoped" to get to by this. It isn't clear as to whether or not we're not really all equals, for the story of the carreer in baseball aspirations doesn't imply that shortstop or first baseman could programme a robot to tear up a hill ... We are not all equal in all domains ; that is an evidence. It is unsure whether we have equal potential even in all domains. I'm personally not much of a determinist, but do feel that we have dispositions which render us better at some things than at others. Still ... And S - you are on to something there about the ones who are disappointed when things turn out better. Here in France, we are always listening to the whinings of those who are all salty about things not living down to their expectations. :dry: And if one thinks well about it, the Schopenhauerian toad would definitely make ones day better. Toad skin secretes a sort of tryptamine, bufotenin, which acts as a sort of neurotransmitter that is the same or similar as found in some mushrooms and plants. So, by swallowing a toad for breakfast - one would be flying high nicely for a good part of the day. :woohoo: It is this which is reputed to have given us all the faerie tales about princesses kissing toads and they miraculously turn into princely lovers ... :huh:

Dans un premier temps je vous invite à lire différentes parties extraites d'articles traitant du Soufisme sur Wikipédia. Au cœur de ces paragraphes, j'ai mis en surbrillance certains éléments très intéressant car abordés par différents auteurs tels que ceux énoncés plus haut en Sources. Comme je l'avais écris il y a quelques semaines lors d'un échange avec Connor Lidell. Les Religions représentent pour moi autant de support d'étude au Jediisme. C'est pourquoi, en conclusion, j'aborderais les enseignements que je pense pouvoir être utile au Jediisme et à la pratique de notre foi. “Before I begin, I must explain "how to read this article." Therefore, in conclusion, I would approach the lessons that I think can be useful Jediisme and practice of our faith.” Dans l'histoire de l'islam, le soufisme (tassawuf) s'est très tôt opposé à la casuistique des théologiens. Les soufis ont avec le temps élaboré une religion parallèle à l'islam. Certains grands soufis contemporains, libérés du Calipha islamique, affirment avec vigueur leur non appartenance à l'islam et leur convictions contraires à cette religion. D'autres soufis continuent de se réclamer de l'islam tout en agissant de façon opposées à cette religion, et une dernière catégorie se réclame de l'islam, agissant dans certains aspects extérieurs conformément à cette religion mais au-delà de l'apparence, pratiquant et prêchant le soufisme, comme les Tablighs (secte visant à propager le soufisme dans le monde) qui ont l'apparence de musulmans pratiquants, mais sont en réalité des ardents soufis dans leur comportement et leur croyance. Du point de vue des idées, le soufisme est un courant ésotérique et initiatique, qui professe une doctrine affirmant que toute réalité comporte un aspect extérieur apparent (exotérique ou zahir) et un aspect intérieur caché (ésotérique ou batin). Il se caractérise par la recherche d'un état spirituel qui permet d'accéder à cette connaissance cachée. Les maîtres du soufisme clament avoir une piété si grande et irréprochable, qu'elle les dispense des actes cultuels obligatoires de l'islam. Ils se positionnent la plupart du temps au niveau de Mahomet, ou même plus pieux que lui. Ils prétendent que le prophète de l'islam n'était qu'un soufi parmi d'autres. Les premières écoles soufis s'élaborent au IXe siècle à Bassorah et à Bagdad autour de maîtres réputés comme Junayd et son disciple Al-Hallaj. Selon l'islam authentique, la « corne du diable » devait apparaître en Irak, lieu d'apparition de toutes les sectes hérétiques se réclamant de l'islam. À partir du XIIe siècle se répandent des confréries (tariqa) où les adeptes (murid), à la recherche de l'effacement en Dieu (el fana' ou fi-llah, pratique issue de l'ésotérisme, sont guidés par un "cheikh" soufi ou murchid dans la pratique d'un dhikr non lié à l'islam mais rappelant la pratique des mantras hindous, qui est l'élément central du rituel soufi. Ainsi naissent notamment la Qadiriyya à Bagdad au XIIe siècle, l'ordre des Derviches Mawlawi de Jalâl ud Dîn Rûmî à Konya au XIIIe siècle, la Naqshbandiyya en Asie centrale au XIVe siècle, la Sanusiyya au XIXe siècle au Maghreb… Les musulmans soufis sont des personnes qui recherchent l'intériorisation, l'amour de Dieu, la contemplation, la sagesse. Il s'agit d'une organisation initiatique et ésotérique. Souvent mis en opposition avec l'islam traditionnel par les Occidentaux et les musulmans, et bien qu'en réalité les anciennes « voies » soufies aient fait l'intense promotion d'un enseignement très orthodoxe, le soufisme cultive volontiers le mystère, l'idée étant que Mahomet aurait reçu en même temps que le Coran des révélations ésotériques qu'il n'aurait partagées qu'avec quelques-uns de ses compagnons. En tant que notables, les soufis combattent au nom de l'islam le vice sous toutes ses formes, montrant justement par là leur aspiration à l'application pleine et entière des lois islamiques : boissons alcoolisées – vin surtout –, haschisch, prostitution... Leurs luttes se sont souvent tournées contre ceux qui menacent de dévoyer la spiritualité des croyants, y compris des émirs licencieux. Dès le début de l'islam, Abû Dharr, par exemple, un compagnon de Mahomet, se distingue par sa condamnation des puissants, qui lui a valu l'emprisonnement par les puissants de son époque. Le soufisme a pour objectif la recherche de l'agrément de Dieu, la promotion du tawhîd – « science de l'unicité de Dieu ». Il combine la charia, la loi islamique, et la Al-haqîqa, la vérité. L'adhésion au Coran y est un nécessaire préalable à la compréhension du monde. Les rites sont inutiles s'ils ne sont pas accomplis avec sincérité. Pour certains vulgaristes, le soufisme prône l'existence d'une connaissance cachée (Ilm al Bâtin) et un idéal de non-attachement aux choses de ce monde et de combat intérieur contre le vice. Ce dernier point est vérifié, mais le principe de (Ilm al Bâtîn) fait référence à l'acceptation par le cœur du verset qui pourrait être traduit par « rien ne ressemble à Dieu ». Dans le soufisme, l'Être suprême est Dieu, auquel on accède – c'est-à-dire accéder à Son agrément – par l'amour de Lui. Les « clichés » occidentaux, à côté de ces vérités théologiques, sont nombreux : le symbolisme de l'arbre de la connaissance représente les progrès de la méditation et de la sagesse ; la barrière qui sépare l'homme de Dieu est symbolisée par la montagne cosmique (Qâf), une prétendue présence invisible de Dieu dans le cœur du croyant, poursuivie à travers l'expérience ascétique et l'union extatique (dans l'amour physique notamment) qui permettraient d'atteindre à l'amour et à la connaissance du Créateur. D'après Jamal B.[réf. nécessaire], la pratique de l'islam est l'un des principaux pré-requis du tassawwuf. Mais si, pour certains, le soufisme consiste à « en faire plus » que les autres musulmans, en matière de prières et de jeûne, pour d'autres « il se situe uniquement au niveau de l'orientation intérieure et ne vise ni à rajouter des rites ni à en retrancher » (Ahmad Al Alawi)[réf. nécessaire]. Il se caractérise parfois par des pratiques ascétiques visant à purifier l'ego (comme la méditation, Mouraqaba), mais l'élément commun à tous les soufis sans exception, c'est le dhikr, qu'on pourrait traduire par « rappel » ou « invocation », qui consiste à se remémorer Dieu notamment en répétant son nom de manière rythmée ou des formules traditionnelles tirées du Coran, telles que la shahâda, le témoignage de foi. Le dhikr est considéré comme une pratique purificatrice de l'âme, car on juge que le nom d'Allah possède une sorte de valeur théurgique qui agit sur l'âme. Il existe plusieurs modalités de dhikr. Le tassawwuf a pour but de conduire au degré de l'excellence de la foi et du comportement (al-ihsân), qui, par la purification du cœur, conduirait à la foi pure (ikhlâs), celle par laquelle « on connaît », par laquelle « on voit ». Celui qui parvient à ce but – le soufi –, après avoir mené le grand combat, dépouillé de son individualité (ego) – ou plutôt l'ayant domestiquée – et délivré de toutes les visions partielles et illusoires qui y sont attachées. Une autre pratique régulière est la récitation de poèmes à caractère spirituel, notamment la louange du prophète de l'islam Mahomet. Certes le Soufisme est pour certains une branche indissociable de l'islam. Dans la pratique, je pense que c'est indéniable. En effet, la « consistance » de Dieu dans le Soufisme est clairement marqué du sceau du monothéisme et son essence ne peux, je pense, être saisie dans la pratique que au travers de la lecture, de la compréhension et de l'étude du Saint Coran. Ceci étant, il est tout autant indéniable de voir ou d'entrevoir les enseignements profonds qui à l'instar d'autres croyances et religions, peut apporter une base de réflexion et d'étude solide à tous Jediistes. En effet le Soufisme est avant tout une philosophie contenu au sein d'une religion. Inutile de préciser que bon nombre de passage que j'ai mis en surbrillance, sont clairement énumérés comme positifs pour l'humanité ou plus précisément afin de cultiver le potentiel spirituel de l'homme, par Joseph Campbell dans son ouvrage « Puissance du Mythes » : Sachant profondément cultiver le mystère, le Soufi est à la recherche de la vérité, par le biais d'une compréhension intérieure de la puissance du divin, par la pratique de l'amour profond et universel, détaché des biens matériels et de tout autres satisfactions de l'ego, par le biais notamment de pratique tel que le dhikr, beaucoup plus proche de la méditation que de la prière, leur affection pour les poèmes n'est pas non plus sans nous rappeler les « conseils » de Joseph Campbell, l'importance de l’ « artiste », du « créatif » dans la transmission et l'étude des mythes et la pratique de la contemplation. Encore une fois et bien que J. Krishnamurti, dénigre l'intérêt de tel pratique dans la recherche de l'Eveil, le dhirk forme de méditation correspond beaucoup plus, selon Joseph Campbell, au besoin de l'homme dans sa réalisation au sein du mythe, à la compréhension de son caractère divin, que les prières traditionnelles couramment pratiquées dans les différentes formes de monothéismes. Je voudrais donc conclure avec deux phrases du livre de Eckhart Tolle « Le Pouvoir du Moment Présent », elles même extraitent de la philosophie Soufiste : « Le Soufi est le fils du temps présent. » […] « Le passé et l'avenir soustrait Dieu (le divin) de notre vue. Brûlons les tous deux au bûcher. » Le Soufisme nous enseigne alors selon moi, la chose la plus importante pour la réalisation de l'humanité, et l'accomplissement de son Éveil. N'est ce pas le but ultime du Jediisme !!!? Merci de votre lecture. Que La Force nous accompagne !!!
